The Art Tour is Northumberland Artist Network’s flagship event, taking place in a huge variety of locations across Northumberland
in the form of open studios, exhibitions and workshops. A brochure is produced containing a map of
the venues. 12
to 15,000 visitors have been recorded exploring the artists workplaces and the fabulous Northumberland
countryside. This is an opportunity for the public to enter the creative world of the artist, discuss the processes
and maybe buy or commission artwork.

Local food, seasonal choice and cooking expertise win through!posted 11/11/09
The Otterburn Tower with its team of local chefs led by John Calton have won a 'strong' TWO ROSETTES from the AA.
Inspected anonoumously on Tuesday 10th November the team are delighted with the result. The inspector ate in the Oak Room Restaurant from the a la carte menu which was full of seasonal choice with local beef, lamb and venison as part of the menu choice.

NEW EXHIBITION PROVIDES A FASCINATING GLIMPSE INTO THE HISTORY
OF TWO NORTH TYNE VILLAGESposted 01/11/09
The Heritage Centre at Bellingham is delighted to host a fascinating new visiting exhibition entitled ‘ “We had it all” – Barrasford and Gunnerton around 1900’. The exhibition comprises photographs, books and historic artefacts about life in Barrasford and Gunnerton, two North Tyne villages, around 1900. The exhibition will be on display between 12 November and 3 December 2009, and open to the public on Mondays,
Wednesdays and Fridays from 10.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. during that time.

Bellingham Mart DVD Launchposted 27/08/09
Saturday 29 August at BELLINGHAM SHOW
"The Last Sheep Sale", a DVD about the former Bellingham Mart, will be launched at the Bellingham Show. Bellingham Mart closed in 2004. The DVD has been produced through the co-operation and sponsorship of the Northumberland National Park Authority, and a donation from Hexham and Northern Marts. The DVD will be on sale at £12.99. Helen Brown, shepherd and photographer from Tarset, will also be launching her new book of photographs The Last Mart.
